Sustainable Design

In every commission we undertake, our design firm strives to design environmentally friendly spaces that have modern luxury elements with a design style that minimize harm to our planet through integrated solutions for

  • water and energy reduction
  • energy generation
  • absorption
  • reclamation

But more than that, it is our team of best interior designers with a mission to create spaces that foster and deepen the connection between people and nature. This includes using modern elements and intricate architectural details to create a modern luxury space with a design style that encourages time spent outside and biophilic design strategies.

With overwhelming documentation of the positive effects of time spent outdoors and in nature, our approach to planning and designing numerous new construction of local traditional homes and commercial projects centers around maximizing the effect of our design choices and occupants’ overall physical and mental health. Our design firm, with a head principal designer and a team of top designers, works to increase opportunities to physically be outdoors, to facilitate the connection between and easy flow through indoors and outdoors.

Biophilic design is an evidence-based strategy that has documented benefits, including

  • increased occupant comfort
  • heightened productivity
  • reduced stress
  • enhanced creativity
  • improved cognitive and learning outcomes
  • improved psychological wellness

The concept of biophilia hinges on the idea that humans feel an innate emotional bond to natural elements and other living organisms. It is rooted in neuroscience that indicates a perceptual sensitivity in humans to collinear or nearly collinear patterns, such as those found in nature – the veins of a leaf, ocean waves, and the branches of a tree. This means that these patterns are easier for our brains’ visual systems to decipher, creating a calming and sensory acuteness that can be associated with reduced stress and even improved cognitive function. We feel more human when we link our built environment like any metropolitan home to the natural world. Increasing our connection through the mix of our interiors and natural elements makes not just the house beautiful but also gives a deeper sense of place, makes for a rich sensory environment, cultivates feelings of caring and compassion in the living space, and ultimately leads to more meaningful lives.
